Guardian AI is a shooter strategy game where you play as an AI weapons system, and must selectively activate and deactivate its various subsystems to combat threats coming from different lanes (air, ground, cyber). You must route power between the subsystems to focus resources on the greatest threats.

Controls:

Cyber Defense (Left click button, A, left arrow, or game pad button left)
Enemies will periodically hack into your subsystems. When this happens the system being hacked will flash yellow and a warning sound will play. After a few seconds you will be locked out of this subsystem, and the button frame will flash red to indicate a shutdown. To restore it, you must activate the cyber button to repair the subsystem. Note that the cyber defense button will not have any effect until you have been locked out of a subsystem and its icon is flashing red.

Ground Button (Left click button, S, down arrow, or game pad button bottom)
Enemies attacking from the ground can be destroyed with shots fired from the ground cannon. Activating this button will fire the ground cannon on repeat until it is disabled.

Anti-Air Button (Left click button, D, right arrow, or gamepad button right)
Enemies attacking from the air can be destroyed with shots fired from the anti-air cannon. Activating this button will fire the anti-air cannon on repeat until it is disabled.

Power Management:
While all three subsystems can be online simultaneously, it will significantly reduce the effectiveness of each subsystem, where hacks will take longer to resolve, and weapons will fire at a slower rate. Subsystems function at peak performance when only one is powered at a time, and their performance is reduced for each additional system that is active. Note that the air/ground subsystems need to be online to reload the next cannon shot, so disabling the subsystem immediately after firing will not speed up its firing rate.

This was a fun strategy defense game! Is it possible to beat each level without losing any health?

Hi Captain! Thanks for playing! I've come close, but I haven't managed a perfect playthrough in my testing, so it might not be possible.  I'll balance it out a bit better once judging is over for the game jam.

Awesome, maybe I'll try it again to see if I can. Hope you have fun continuing the project!

Also, if you are looking for another submission to try, you could play CTRL ALT Defeat. It was made by some of my friends!
